About Julian

Julian Rapallo is a remarkable 15-year-old boy diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, whose journey is nothing short of inspiring. Born on July 31, 2009, alongside his twin brother Shant, at just 23 weeks of gestation and weighing only 500 grams, Julian’s survival was a miracle. His parents, Anthony and Ani Rapallo, along with his older brother Francesco, stood by his side throughout his four-month stay in the NICU at Mount Sinai hospital, filled with fear but also hope. Every day, they watched as he fought to survive, waiting for that miracle.
Though Julian is non-verbal, he has blossomed into a handsome, intelligent, and joyful boy who fills his family’s lives with pride. Living with Autism, he continues to overcome challenges with a strength and resilience that inspire those around him. His story is a testament to the power of love, faith, and perseverance. Julian is a true miracle, and his family couldn’t be prouder of the beautiful person he is.
Julian Rapallo is a student at Cardinal Ambrozic Catholic Secondary School, where he is part of the Planning For Independence class. This program supports him in his academic journey and helps him build essential skills for the future. In addition to his studies, Julian has a passion for music and plays the piano. His love for the instrument brings him joy and serves as a form of self-expression. Swimming is also his favourite sport, and he enjoys the freedom and relaxation it offers.
To communicate, Julian uses his iPad, typing out messages to express his thoughts and ideas. This tool has become an essential part of his life, enabling him to interact with others and share his experiences. Despite the challenges he faces, Julian continues to thrive, demonstrating his incredible resilience and determination. His family's pride in him is immeasurable, and they support him every step of the way as he continues to grow and shine.
